Goal Seek: Checked Answers is free, and provided as it is. These terms are short because the add-on is small and I'm one person.
What you're agreeing to
By installing or using the add-on, you accept these terms. If you don't, don't install it, or remove it. Removing it is the complete remedy and it costs you nothing.
What it costs
Nothing. There is no fee, no subscription and no trial. If paid features are ever added, what is free today stays free.
What it does to your spreadsheet
While it works, it writes trial values into the input cell you choose, then puts your original value back. It only leaves a new value in place when you press Apply. It changes no other cell.
If a run is cut off partway, for example by a Google outage, the input cell could be left holding a trial value. Check the cell if a run ends with an error.
Limits to know about
- Every answer it shows has been checked by recalculating your sheet. The search for other answers covers a range around the first answer, and the sidebar says which range it checked.
- Formulas that change on their own, like
RAND,RANDBETWEENandNOW, make answers unreliable. The add-on checks for this and stops when it finds it. - Each try takes as long as your sheet takes to recalculate, so large sheets are slower.
No warranty
The add-on is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. I do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that its output will be complete or correct for your purposes. Check anything you intend to rely on.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising out of your use of or inability to use the add-on, even if advised of the possibility. Since the add-on is free, my total liability to you for any claim relating to it is zero.
Acceptable use
Use it on spreadsheets you're entitled to edit. Don't attempt to interfere with it or with Google's services through it.
Availability
I may change, suspend or discontinue the add-on at any time. It depends on Google Apps Script, which I don't control, and if Google changes it the add-on may stop working. Nothing here obliges me to maintain it, though I will say so on this page if I stop.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the revised version appears here with a new date. Continuing to use the add-on after that means you accept the revision.
